Prof. Marek Dzida awarded by the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Mieczysław Struk

The Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Mieczysław Struk, thanked Marek Dzida, PhD, DSc, professor at Gdańsk Tech, for effective cooperation and supporting the development of education in Pomerania while serving as vice-rector of Gdańsk University of Technology. Professor Marek Dzida also received a commemorative medal from the marshal.

During the meeting at the seat of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal's Office, which took place on Tuesday, 27 September 2022, and which was also attended by the Gdańsk Tech rector, prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Marshal Mieczysław Struk emphasized the invaluable merits of the Gdańsk Tech professor Marek Dzida for the development of education in Pomerania in the last decade.

IB - Telemedicine, health informatics, and computer-aided diagnosis and therapy

Research in this field focuses on three aspects:

  1. Telemedicine is the field of science and engineering involving the design and application of methods that provide diagnosis, therapy support, medical recommendations, patient monitoring, and other health-related services using remote techniques. The goal of this research field is also to develop such methods and systems that can improve patient outcomes by increasing access to healthcare services and medical, reliable information.

IB - Environment and health

Human health and well-being is intimately linked to the state of the environment. Good quality natural environments provide basic needs, in terms of clean air and water as well as soil for food production. It also provides important recreation opportunities and supports well-being.
