How to create a good quality e-learning course? The E-TECH project will help in this

For some time now, we have witnessed a dynamic development of online education and teaching through a variety of e-learning courses. This was undoubtedly due to the unexpected pandemic and the associated obligation of social isolation. All teachers, including academics, had to quickly adapt to the new working conditions. Overnight, there was a need to provide comprehensive technical and methodological support in the field of effective teaching via the Internet.

For this reason, scientists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology in cooperation with the Center for Innovative Teaching at Gdańsk Tech have developed the concept of the E-TECH project "Comprehensive project for distance teaching skills and multimedia resources for technical universities in Europe", which will help teachers all over Europe to cope with the aforementioned challenges.

Meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Pomerania Voivodeship was held on 23 September at Gdańsk University of Technology with the chairmen of the University Councils. The main topic of the meeting were EU funds in the new programming period and the possibility of receiving subsidies by universities.  

The guests of the meeting were representatives of the Marshal's Office - Adam Mikołajczyk, director of the Department of Regional and Spatial Development, Stanisław Szultka, director of the Department of Economic Development, Ludwik Szakiel, his deputy, and Małgorzata Sobolew from the Department of Regional and Spatial Development. The meeting was also attended by prof. Adriana Zaleska-Medynska, director of the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk.

Prof. Janusz Rachoń becomes a member of the Historical and Program Board of the ESC

Prof. Janusz Rachoń, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology in 2002-2008 and senator of the Republic of Poland of the 7th term, was appointed by Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, President of Gdańsk, to the Historical and Program Board of the European Solidarity Center for the term 2021-2025.  

The Historical and Program Board of the ESC appointed prof. Janusz Rachoń "with gratitude for taking up the social mission of keeping the Solidarity movement attractive and up-to-date, cherishing the memory of this peaceful revolution as the founding myth of common Europe, making Solidarity a source of inspiration and hope".

Welcome Meeting for the newcomers

Over 470 students from 42 countries - from Singapore, China, Russia, EU countries, the USA and Brazil – have been accepted this year to study at Gdańsk University of Technology. On Thursday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. there will be an online Welcome Meeting for all newly admitted international students.

Every year, the International Relations Office organizes an information meeting for foreigners, starting their studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The event is not only an opportunity to welcome new foreign students at the University, but also to provide important information related to the beginning of the academic year, organization of studies and life in Gdańsk.

The assembly of the Fahrenheit Universities was held yet again. This time, representatives of the largest Gdańsk universities met at the University of Gdańsk.

Let us remind you that the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk have created the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk (FarU), which is to jointly build the position of Gdańsk as a strong academic center in Poland and abroad. MUG, Gdańsk Tech and UG have been cooperating with each other for many years in almost all areas of teaching, research and organizational activities.

E-TECH

E-TECH, or Comprehensive Project for Distance Teaching Skills and Multimedia Resources for  Technical Universities in Europe (2020-1-PL01-KA226-HE-096375) is a project lead by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk University of Technology, in consortium with an Austrian university FH Joanneum GMBH of Graz and an Italian technical university Universita Politechnica Delle Marche of Ancona.

Inauguration of the academic year 2021/2022

The ceremonial meeting of the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology on the occasion of the inauguration of the academic year 2021/2022 will be held on 1 October at 11.15.

Due to the epidemic situation, just like last year, the central ceremony inaugurating the new academic year will be held in a hybrid manner. The list of direct participants of the ceremonial session of the Gdańsk Tech Senate has been limited, while all those willing will be able to take part in the inauguration thanks to the online broadcast available on the university's YouTube channel.
