Gdańsk Tech is a leader in 4 areas of Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021

THE Impact ranking is the only global ranking that is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the latest edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, Gdańsk University of Technology has been classified in the overall ranking and in eight individual Sustainable Development Goals.  

The Sustainable Development Goals is an action plan for the transformation of the world, in which the needs of the present generation can be met in a sustainable manner, respecting the environment and taking into account the needs of future generations. THE Impact international university ranking, which takes these goals into account, was organized for the third time.

Gdańsk Tech Publishing House

The Gdansk University of Technology Publishing House has a long tradition – it was established in 1954. The basis of the offer of the Gdańsk Tech Publishing House are scientific monographs as well as textbooks and scripts written by the academic staff and lecturers of Gdansk University of Technology.

Computational model for estimating the risk of a company's insolvency

Scientists from the Faculty of Management and Economics have developed formulae to calculate the risk of corporate insolvency. It is enough to enter the annual financial results of the company, and the model will calculate to what extent the company is at risk of bankruptcy.

Forecasting the risk of bankruptcy of companies is one of the main challenges of modern research in economics and finance. Bankruptcy forecasting models are of great importance to economists who must continuously forecast the financial situation of companies. Such models are often a simple and quick way to provide early warning signals about the potential risk of bankruptcy.

Czarlina Resort

Czarlina Holiday Resort has been administered by Gdańsk University of Technology for over 50 years. Generations of the University employees with their families have been spending holidays in the picturesque environment of Kaszubian lakes and forests.

Located in the forest on a large lake, the Resort offers two-week stays from mid-June until mid-September providing on site:

Prof. Edmund Wittbrodt  PhD, DSc, Eng. from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk Tech has been unanimously elected the chairman of the Space Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk for the term 2021-2025. Prof. Andrzej Stepnowski, who chairs the Space and Satellite Technologies Section in the Committee was also elected to the presidium of the Committee.  

The Space Sciences Committee, operating since 2017, is one of the ten committees of the Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences (other committees: the Vistula Delta Water Management Committee, the Sopot Art and Culture History Committee, the Maritime and Tropical Medicine Committee, the Space Sciences Committee, the Maritime Law Committee, The Maritime Sociology Committee, the Ecosphere Committee, the IT Committee, the Northern Poland Spatial Development Committee, the Medical Sciences Committee).
