A team of employees from the Institute of Sociology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University (UMK) in Toruń is running a project called “Doctoral Students in Poland.” Its goal is to find out the reasons behind the successes and failures of doctoral students, the perception of the challenges that doctoral students face and their planed career paths.

On their behalf, we would like to ask our doctoral students to participate in a nationwide survey “Doctoral students in Poland - motives for choosing education, reasons for failure, career paths.”.

Paweł Kroplewski – graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, scientifically affiliated with the Faculty of Electronics, Telecomunications and Informatics, began his PhD training in the a.y. 2019/2020 under the supervision of prof. dr hab. inż. Marcin Morawiec affiliated with Department of Electric Drives and Energy Conversion.

doctoral dissertation, entitled “Control Structures of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Connected to Current Source Converter,” was supervised by Prof. Marcin Morawiec (Gdańsk Tech) and the reviewers were DSc Eng. Grzegorz Iwański (Warsaw University of Technology), DSc Eng. Andrzej Popenda (Częstochowa University of Technology) and Prof. PhD. DSc Eng.

We would like to inform you that on our website, in the tab Training --> Mid-term evaluation, the results of the mid-term evaluation of PhD students accepted in the academic year 2022/2023 have been published.

The purpose of the Program is to support the cooperation of the University with secondary schools, mainly from outside the Tri-City (i.e., the school must not be located in the municipality of Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia) identifying the most talented graduates as future students of Gdansk University of Technology, especially in majors related to the research topics of the PRA Centers.

The Evaluation Committee will evaluate applications according to the following criteria:

Calendar of Doctoral School classes

The Committee's tasks include providing expert assistance to decision-makers on issues related to the prevention of flood risks and the management of the consequences of such events, as well as proposing effective solutions for the protection of river basins against flood disasters in a way that is compatible with human and natural needs. In addition, the Committee's experts will be involved in raising the profile of water science both in Poland and in international cooperation.

We would like to inform you that in October, due to the period before the mid-term evaluation, the amount of the scholarship for doctoral students of the 3rd year (5th semester) is PLN 3832.27 gross.

After the positive result of the mid-term evaluation, the scholarship for doctoral students of the 3rd year (5th semester) from the month of November will be PLN 5706.27 gross.

For doctoral students with disabilities, the above amounts will be higher by PLN 1040.07 gross.

From October 21-23, 2024 the EOSC Symposium 2024 took place in Berlin. The European Commission funded and organized the event as part of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative. The Gdańsk University of Technology has been an active member of the EOSC Association since September 2020, represented by the Deputy Chancellor for IT, Dr. Eng. Andrzej Sobecki.

The main objectives of the Titanium Supporting International Patent Applications program are the implementation of mechanisms for the identification and protection of intellectual property on an international scale of valuable inventions developed at Gdańsk University of Technology.

Co-financing may be granted only for activities concerning inventions to which the University will be entitled - in whole or in part - to property rights, and the University is not subject to restrictions on the commercial use of the invention.
