Aleksandra Laska from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology is yet another graduate of the Doctoral School in the new system of doctoral education. Her scientific interests focus on mechanical engineering, and in her doctoral thesis she studied the properties of aluminum alloy joints.

The promoter of the doctoral thesis of the scientist, entitled "Influence of friction stir welding technological parameters on the properties of the joints of selected aluminum alloys" is prof. Marek Szkodo. The reviewers are Mirosław Czechowski, PhD, DSc, Eng., professor at the GMU (Gdynia Maritime University), prof. Lucjan Śnieżek, PhD, DSc, Eng. (Military University of Technology), prof. Agata Dudek, PhD, DSc, Eng. (Częstochowa University of Technology).

Baltic Windustry 2023. Offshore conference at Gdańsk Tech

Next Tuesday, 12 September, Gdańsk University of Technology is hosting Baltic Windustry 2023 conference. It is an event addressed to researchers, ivestors and representatives of the offshore wind energy sector. The speakers of the conference include the representatives of foreign universities, organizations promoting the development of wind energy, offshore industry companies, as well as the European Commission.

The conference "Baltic WINDUSTRY 2023: industrial research in offshore wind energy" is organized by the Offshore Wind Energy Center of Gdańsk University of Technology in cooperation with the Polish Wind Energy Association.

Polish researchers visit nuclear power facilities in Japan

The representatives of Polish technical universities in nuclear power facilities in Japan
Representatives of Polish technical universities and the Ministry of National Defense visited nuclear power facilities in Japan, including power plants (e.g. Fukushima), laboratories and nuclear power training centers. Knowledge gained during the visit will help to enrich the training programs of Polish universities and develop the research potential within the scope of modern technologies.

The participants of the visit of 21-25 August included the representatives of Gdańsk University of Technology, AGH University of Kraków, Cracow University of Technology, Poznań University of Technology, Silesian University, Warsaw University of Technology and Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
