Scientists look for compounds to facilitate the development of a new anti-COVID-19 drug

The scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk are working to obtain new compounds blocking the activity of enzymes which play a key role in the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus replication process. In the near future, this is supposed to permit the development of an effective, safe and cheap Polish drug preventing the severe course of COVID-19.

Call in the first edition of the Cuprum Supporting Research Team Building in Emerging Areas program (1.04-13.05.22)

The Program is aimed at increasing and enriching the scientific potential of Gdańsk Tech as a result of creating new research teams led by Gdańsk Tech scientists conducting research in the field of architecture and urban planning or in the field of social sciences, with the participation of foreign scientists. Within the Program it is possible to obtain a university grant for financing the costs of establishing and functioning of a new research team in Gdańsk Tech in the initial period of its activity.
Budget
  • The project budget planned in the application cannot exceed PLN 300 000 gross.
  • The project implementation period can be from 3 to 12 months.

Ahmed Lakhdar Kouzou, a PhD student representing the Gdańsk Tech Doctoral School, received the audience award in the competition "My PhD in 180 seconds", organized by the French Culture Center (CCFEF), the Plejada association and the French Institute.

The Polish edition of the "My PhD in 180 seconds" competition enables the presentation of research topics for doctoral students from various universities to a wide audience. Each participant must present a clear, concise and convincing presentation of their research project in French within three minutes. Works from any field could be submitted for the competition: from mathematics, through literature and biology, to architecture and many others.

Scholarships - announcement of results

Two of the best international students, who started their studies at second cycle of studies in the summer semester of the academic year 2021/2022, received scholarships. Congratulations!

Two of the best students will receive annual scholarships of PLN 1,250.00 per month (approximately EUR 255). The scholarship may be extended for another academic year if the student completes the first two semesters without any credit debt.
