Legalization of stay in Poland - information meeting (October 9th)

The International Relations Office invites all newly admitted, international, English-speaking students and doctoral students to an information meeting regarding the legalization of their stay in Poland (Monday, October 9th, at 4:00 PM).

Legalizing your stay is one of the first mandatory steps for newly admitted international students and doctoral students upon arriving in Poland. Gdańsk University of Technology offers support in this regard through the Welcome Office (part of the International Relations Office) - a service point for international students, doctoral students, and staff.

In mid-October, Welcome Office staff will conduct an informational meeting during which they will explain step by step the process of legalizing your stay in Poland.

The inaugural edition of the QS Europe University Ranking covered 688 universities from 42 countries, including 33 universities from Poland.

Gdańsk University of Technology was ranked 319th in the ranking.

The top 3 ranked are: University of Oxford, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich, and University of Cambridge. Among Polish universities, the highest score was achieved by University of Warsaw (92nd place), Jagiellonian University (122nd place) and Warsaw University of Technology (211th place).

Topping out ceremony for the Eco-Innovation Center

It will be one of the most important research institutions in Poland working on the development of green technologies and eco-friendly solutions. On Friday, 15 September 2023, the topping out ceremony was held at Gdańsk Tech Eco-Innovation Center being built on the campus, which means that the highest structural point of the building has been reached.  

The Eco-Innovation Center will be a state-of-the-art research facility that will enable university scientists to develop and implement innovative technologies in the field of engineering and environmental protection. This includes, among others: sewage treatment, water and flood management, energy efficiency in construction, transport and industry, as well as the development of renewable energy sources and the revitalization of degraded urban areas. 

A climate change conference at Gdańsk University of Technology

From 5th to 6th October, Gdańsk University of Technology is hosting “ENHANCE Summit on Climate-Neutral Cities”. For two days, researchers, PhD students and students from 10 European technical universities and invited experts, will be discussing the role of universities in the fight against the climate change. Norwegian University of Science and Technology prepared the program of the event. The conference is part of the project run by the ENHANCE Alliance, an organization which Gdańsk is a member of.

In November 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology joined the ENHANCE Alliance of technical universities, uniting the lead universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden (more information available here).

[UPDATE 14.09.2023] Call for applications for the Titanium program (until 25.09.2023)

Titanium Program
The Technology Transfer Center invites researchers, PhD students and GUT students to apply for funding from the Titanium Program for the costs of activities aimed at obtaining or extending international legal protection for an invention.

The main objectives of the Titanium Supporting International Patent Applications program are the implementation of mechanisms for the identification and protection of intellectual property on an international scale of valuable inventions developed at Gdańsk University of Technology.
