Law and volunteering
The basic legal act regulating voluntary activity is the Act of 24 April 2003 on Public Benefit and Volunteer Work, i.e. Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1057 (hereinafter the PBVW Act)*
The PBVW Act specifies:
Gdańsk University of Technology has officially inaugurated its flagship project, which is also one of the largest infrastructure investments currently underway in the Tri-City. It is the STOS Competence Center (Smart and Transdisciplinary knOwledge Services), which will cost nearly 156 million PLN to be built on the university campus - at Traugutta Street, in the vicinity of the GUT Management and Economics building.
In the general classification, GUT scored 301 points more than the second-placed University of Warsaw and 499.5 points more than the Silesian University of Technology in the third place. The success is all the more complete as our university also took 3rd place in the medal standings, winning 11 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals.

Project leader: PhD, Eng. Patrycja Makoś-Chełstowska, funds granted: PLN 299 425
2. Design and development of a multiphase Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generator
Up to PLN 300 000 can be obtained by a research club that will take part in the competition under the Plutonium program. The obtained funding can be used to conduct and disseminate scientific research, purchase small laboratory equipment or research equipment, or modernize the laboratory.
An application for funding under the program may be submitted by the supervisor of a student research club that exists at least one academic year before the date of the competition announcement.
These scholarships have been awarded continuously since 2013 from the Gdańsk University of Technology's own scholarship fund (GUT OSF). It was then that the authorities of our university - meeting the announcements of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education - created the possibility of awarding scholarships to outstanding first-year students for their achievements and outstanding academic results obtained at the previous educational stage.
Despite the difficulties resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the Student Government of Gdańsk University of Technology did not stop its activities and organized a number of online events, worked on study programs, and supported the student community in various ways.
