Open Science Hub Staff Week takes place at Gdańsk University of Technology on 6-8 May 2026 along with other ENHANCE Hub staff weeks and meetings.

Dear Open Science Hub attendees!
We invite you to take active part in our staff week Application of AI in Academic Research: From Data Management to Ethical Transparency which is a final event of the Open Science Hub 2026. During the staff week we will explore how AI tools are transforming Open Science, research, teaching, scholarly communication, and institutional support services. The event aims to share experiences, practical solutions, and critical reflections on the opportunities and challenges of AI in higher education.

Are you helping researchers manage data in an AI-supported environment?
Are you developing guidelines for responsible AI use?
Have you introduced AI tools in library services, repositories, or research support workflows?
Are you thinking about transparency, ethics, or research integrity when AI enters the research process?

If so, we await your contributions on one of three main subjects:

1. AI tools for searching scholarly literature – students and researchers

Topics may include:

  • AI-powered literature search platforms
  • AI tools for systematic reviews and bibliometric analysis
  • Supporting students in responsible AI-assisted research
  • Integrating AI tools into information literacy training
  • AI support for academic writing and reference management
2. AI tools and solutions in everyday support services

Topics may include:

  • AI applications in university libraries
  • AI chatbots and virtual assistants for student services
  • AI for administrative workflows and process automation
  • Use of AI in the context of research data management
  • Practical experiences implementing AI solutions in campus services
3. AI in academic research, ethics

Topics may include:

  • AI as a research tool across disciplines
  • Responsible and ethical use of AI in research
  • AI and intellectual property, legal issues
  • Transparency, bias, and accountability in AI systems
  • Institutional policies and guidelines for AI use in academia
Presentation Formats
  • Short presentations (15–20 minutes + discussion)
  • Lightning talks (5–7 minutes)
  • Hands-on workshops or demonstrations (45–60 minutes)
