Polish language course – organizational meeting (07.10)

The Language Center is organizing a Polish language course for students and PhD students. All those interested in attending the classes are invited to an organizational meeting, where suitable class times will be arranged.

When? Monday, October 7th, 2024, 3:00 – 4:00 PM

Where? Room 311, 3rd floor, Building 10

The meeting is open to those who would like to continue learning Polish as well as those planning to start the course. This is a great opportunity to learn a language useful both in everyday life and in the academic environment.

Distribution of places in SH - 4.10.2024

The results of the distribution of places in Student Dormitories from today have been published on the student accounts.

Persons who have been granted a place must check in until Sunday 06/10/2024.

Changes of DS numbers, as previously announced, were not implemented - please try next week.

Places in dormitories were given to people whose place of residence is at least 58 km (for women) and 62 km (for men) from the Gdańsk University of Technology.

We invite international students to an information session on legalization of stay in Poland, which will take place on Thursday, October 10th at 4:00 PM in the conference room in the Hydromechanics Building.

The session will be conducted by the staff of the Welcome Office. International students will have the opportunity to learn about the legalization process in Poland, the necessary formalities, and where and when to submit the required documents.

[1st-4th-year PhD Students The "Science with X-ray Free Electron Lasers" course (14.10)

Warsaw PhD School in Natural and BioMedical Sciences (WSD) invites you to the “Science with X-ray Free Electron Lasers” course, which will start on October 14, 2024. This course will explore interdisciplinary research exploiting X-ray free electron lasers across various fields, including physics, materials sciences, chemistry and biology.
During the lecture, students will learn about:
  • the principles of operation and properties of radiation produced by XFELs,
  • the instrumentation used in XFEL facilities,
  • basic x-ray research techniques,
  • applications in fields such as protein crystallography, photochemistry, studies of atomic and electronic structure dynamics, magnetism, matter under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, non-linear x-ray optics.

Interested PhD students will have the opportunity, under guidance of experts, to prepare XF

Events organized by the Young Researchers Office are a response to the needs reported by employees and doctoral students of the University. Their aim is to integrate the academic community, reduce the distance and create a place where researchers, mainly at the beginning of their scientific career, have unique conditions for establishing cooperation.
