Facilities for parents across the Gdańsk University of Technology campus

Gdańsk University of Technology develops initiatives aimed at making it easier for parents working or studying at the university to combine their academic and family duties.

Among the facilities offered to parents and babysitters, Gdańsk University of Technology has family rooms located in the buildings of the faculties: Electrical and Control Engineering and Chemistry, as well as a room for feeding and changing babies at the Faculty of Management and Economics.

Furthermore, 21 baby and toddler changing stations have been installed in 17 buildings across the Campus.

The second edition of the PhD Open is over - an event dedicated to the most important aspects of a scientific career and the opportunities offered by joining the university's doctoral schools. At the same time, it is a formal start of the academic year for doctoral students of Gdańsk University of Technology.

The second edition of the PhD Open was held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Gdańsk Tech Aula. Gdańsk Tech Scientist with Publications at the European Conference on Computer Vision in Milan

Sebastian Cygert, PhD, Eng., from the Department of Multimedia Systems at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics presented three articles at the leading conference in the field of AI: European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) in Milan.

Sebastian Cygert, PhD, Eng., who also works as a postdoc at IDEAS NCBR, conducts research on algorithms taught in continual learning mode, with an emphasis on their safe operation in changing conditions. His work concerns the creation of AI systems that can independently adapt to the environment without the need for constant human intervention.

Gdańsk Tech - the best Polish technical university in THE WUR 2025

Gdańsk University of Technology maintained its position in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 (THE WUR). This year's edition classified 2092 universities from around the world, 188 institutions more than in the previous year

In this year's edition of the ranking, Gdańsk Tech took a place in the 1001-1200 range. This position places it ex-aequo in 5th place in Poland. It received a total of 30.7-34.4 points (in the previous edition it was 28.3-32.6).

Gdańsk Tech, together with the AGH University of Science and Technology, are the highest ranked Polish technical universities in the THE WUR 2025.

The THE WUR 2025 uses 18 indicators grouped into five areas:

2 million PLN for the PROM project – short-term academic exchange

2 million PLN for the PROM project – short-term academic exchange
Gdańsk University of Technology has received almost 2 million PLN from National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) for the implementation of the “PROM – short-term academic exchange” project. The activities will be coordinated by the International Relations Office in cooperation with the Doctoral School and the faculties. The project will run from October 2024 until the end of September 2025.

The “PROM – short-term academic exchange” project is one of many NAWA projects which aims to develop university internationalisation. It allows students and university staff to acquire knowledge and skills in an international environment.
