Second "Construction Oscar" for Gdańsk University of Technology – Eco-Innovation Centre Awarded

The Eco-Innovation Centre at Gdańsk University of Technology has received an award in the Construction of the Year competition, organized by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians, in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Development and Technology. The award statuette was presented to Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, during the official awards ceremony.

Referred to within the Polish construction industry as the “Construction Oscar,” the Construction of the Year award has been one of the most prestigious recognitions in the country for over three decades. Each year, dozens of projects compete for this distinction. The jury evaluates both newly constructed and reconstructed or modernized buildings.

[3rd to 6th-year PhD students] Call for applications for the Francium program

The aim of the FRANCIUM program is to stimulate the research activity of doctoral students of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, and in particular to direct this activity towards cooperation with other scientific units, including foreign ones. The call for applications will last from October 6 to November 5, 11:59 p.m.
Who is it for?

Applications for scholarships may be submitted by third- or fourth-year PhD students who meet the mandatory conditions.

What can you gain?

The scholarship in the program amounts to a maximum of PLN 4000 gross per month and is awarded for a maximum period of 12 months.

[1st and 2nd-year PhD students] Call for applications for the Polonium program

The POLONIUM program aims to increase the university's effectiveness in attracting the most talented candidates from outside Poland for studies at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology. The call for applications will last from October 6 to November 15, 11:59 p.m.
Who is it for?

For people admitted to the Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech, starting their education in the first and second year, whose supervisor/potential supervisor is an employee of Gdańsk Tech and who have not previously been doctoral students at Gdańsk Tech, and who meet the conditions of the regulations. 

What can you gain?

The scholarship in the program amounts to a maximum of PLN 2,500 gross per month and is awarded for a maximum period of 12 months.

PhD Open at Gdańsk Tech

On October 10, for the third time, PhD Open will take place – an event addressed to doctoral students and undergraduates, which also serves as the official inauguration of the academic year at the Doctoral School of Gdańsk Tech.

PhD Open will begin at 10:00 AM in the Main Hall (Aula) of the Main Building of Gdańsk University of Technology. The event aims to formally open the academic year and to welcome newly admitted PhD students into the doctoral community.

This year’s edition will focus on the future of science, as well as on the skills and challenges faced by young researchers. The program combines the ceremonial welcome of new doctoral students with inspiring discussion panels and practical presentations.

The agenda includes, among others:

"START" Scholarship for young scientists

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced a call for applications for the "START" Scholarship for young scientists for the year 2026.
Conditions for participation in the scholarship competition
  • documented achievements in publications (articles in recognized scientific journals or books);

  • candidates may be doctoral candidates or PhD holders, including those conducting research or development work at a Polish institution whose statutory objectives include conducting scientific research or development work;

  • candidates no older than 30 years of age in the year of application submission;

Next recruitment round under ISB and the RADIUM program

RADIUM

The RADIUM Program offers grants to finance the costs of scientific research conducted by second-cycle students as part of Individual Research Studies. 

RADIUM budget and financing conditions:
The amount of funding is PLN 24,000 gross, and the implementation period is no longer than 10 months.

In order to participate in RADIUM, the applicant must first obtain the consent of the Vice-Rector for Education to implement ISB in accordance with the eligibility criteria.
