Another step "towards the sea". Gdańsk Tech focuses on offshore wind energy

On Tuesday, 18 May, the authorities of Gdańsk University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the Danish University of Technology, the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna. Thanks to the memorandum, Gdańsk Tech students and scientists will have one more opportunity to exchange knowledge, perform joint research and develop professionally in the field of offshore wind energy.

Gdańsk University of Technology, as a leading scientific and research institution in the field of ocean engineering in Poland, meets market trends and focuses on even better and more effective expansion of the knowledge and competences of its students and scientists.

On Thursday, 13 May, Gdańsk University of Technology handed over the site for the construction of the Gdańsk Tech Eco-innovation Center to the investment contractor selected through a tender: a consortium of Polimex Infrastruktura (leader) and Polimex Mostostal S.A. (partner). The modern and ecological science and research center will be ready by autumn 2022 at the latest, and the cost of its construction is almost PLN 80 million.

The handover of the construction site by Gdańsk University of Technology took place after the closing of the tender procedure and the signing (on 29 April ) of the contract for "Construction of the Building if Eco-innovation Center, together with equipment and land development as part of the project: Construction of the Gdańsk University of Technology Eco-innovation Center in Gdańsk". Team Leaders in the Process of Consolidation of Gdańsk Universities

Fahnrenheit
"Supporting university consolidation processes" is a project carried out jointly by the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk as part of the Fahrenheit University Association. As part of the project, 21 team leaders responsible for various aspects of university integration were appointed.

On 12 May another meeting of representatives of the Fahrenheit University Association was held, during which experts in 21 areas subject to consolidation were appointed. The leaders of 14 of them are specialists from Gdańsk University of Technology:

Meeting of Gdańsk Tech and MUG Doctoral Schools’ Authorities

Representatives of the authorities of doctoral schools at Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk met to discuss the principles of functioning and organization of doctoral education as part of the activities of both universities aimed at increasing interdisciplinarity.

Aiming at the development of cooperation within the framework of the Daniel Fahrenheit University Association in Gdańsk, on 5 May 2021, the first meeting (in the remote mode) of the authorities of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology and the First Doctoral School of the Medical University of Gdańsk took place.

On Tuesday, 11 May, Gdańsk University of Technology was visited by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense, Marcin Ociepa. During his stay at Gdańsk Tech, he met with the university authorities and the management of the Gdańsk Tech Maritime Military Technologies Center, and also visited the model pool at the Gdańsk Tech Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology.

Apart from the secretary of the Ministry of National Defense, Marcin Ociepa, the delegation visiting Gdańsk University of Technology also consisted of : director Col. Jacek Najs (MON), director Rafał Sobolewski (NCBiR) and MP Magdalena Sroka. The delegation was received by the university authorities: prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech and prof. Janusz Nieznański, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology was represented by the Dean prof.

Please be advised that according to the Chancellor's Circular Letter No. 7/2016 - cards entitling you to enter the University by car may receive:

part-time students and post-graduate students

- card valid until the end of the semester (winter until the end of February, summer until the end of September)

- active card from 15:00 on Friday until 22:00 on Sunday

- in case of another semester cycle, according to information from the faculties.

The cost of a new card is 80zł and prolongation is 50zł.
