Gdańsk University of Technology among the leaders of the Perspektywy 2025 Ranking – strong academic potential in PhD training

Gdańsk University of Technology ranked among the top universities in the Perspektywy 2025 University Ranking, taking 3rd place among technical universities and 5th place overall. 

One of the indicators in which the university received a perfect score of 100 out of 100 points is Education of doctoral students –measured as the ratio of the number of doctoral students studying in doctoral schools in a given university to the number of research and research/teaching employees with a habilitation degree or the title of professor as of 31.12.2024.*

Recognition for Our Doctoral Student at the Prestigious AAAS Conference in the USA

MSc Eng. Jakub Baczyński-Keller, a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Gdańsk University of Technology, received an honourable mention during the international conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – the world’s largest interdisciplinary scientific event, annually bringing together researchers, journalists, and decision-makers from around the globe. This year’s edition was held under the theme “Science Shaping Tomorrow.”

From among all PhD students participating in the event, Jakub was awarded an honourable mention for presenting his scientific poster entitled “Deep Dive into Macrophages’ Role in Regenerative Response to Zebrafish Spine Injury” in the category of developmental biology, genetics, and immunology. The recognition, along with Gdańsk University of Technology’s affiliation, was noted in the April issue of Science.

Colourful outfits, aromatic dishes, sounds from all over the world, and a huge dose of positive energy – that’s how this year’s Cultural Day can be described, which this time took place outdoors on the campus of Gdańsk University of Technology.

From the very beginning, the event was full of life – music playing in the background, the buzz of conversations, and the scents of dishes from various continents drew the attention of all visitors.

Gdańsk Tech Ranked Highest Among Polish Universities in THE Impact Rankings

Impact
Gdańsk University of Technology has been ranked in the 301–400 range in the latest edition of THE Impact Rankings 2025, which assess universities worldwide in terms of their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Alongside the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk Tech is the highest-ranked Polish higher education institution in this year’s edition.

“This marks another consecutive year of significant advancement for the university — in 2024, we were ranked in the 401–600 range, and two years ago, in the 601–800 range. We are pleased that the university’s efforts in the field of sustainable development are being recognized and highly rated in the world’s most prestigious university rankings.
