Gdańsk University of Technology Advances in U.S. News Ranking, One of the So-Called "Big Four"

Gdańsk University of Technology has advanced by 90 positions in the U.S. News ranking. This American university ranking is considered one of the four most prestigious in the world, alongside the QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education, and the so-called Shanghai Ranking. For the first time, Gdańsk University of Technology has been included among the top 1,000 universities globally according to U.S. News.

The Best Global Universities ranking, published annually by U.S. News & World Report, evaluates institutions of higher education from around the world, with a primary focus on research performance and academic reputation.

Preparation of a competitive manuscript for publication in a reputable journal

This webinar will cover examples from analytical chemistry and environmental science, but will also be relevant for researchers from other fields.

Professor Bulat Kenessov, Ph.D., will lead this webinar. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Advanced in Sample Preparation (Q1), a journal published by Elsevier.

10th Meeting of the Young Researchers’ Team – Reflections, Plans, and Good Practices

On July 2, 2025, the tenth meeting of the Young Researchers’ Team for the 2024/2025 academic year took place. The meeting was held online and gathered representatives from various faculties and the doctoral school. It was chaired by PhD Eng. Roksana Licow.

Among the topics discussed were reflections following the presentation of survey results on barriers faced by young researchers, which had been previously shared with the University Senate and the Young Researchers’ Forum. The discussion revealed that the younger generation expects changes in various areas of academic work. To reach young researchers more effectively, the Team agreed to organize "open hours" to facilitate individual contact, consultations, and support.

Young Researchers Forum and Debate on Barriers

On 30 June 2025, the second Young Researchers Forum – Debate on Barriers took place in the conference hall of the Hydromechanics building at Gdańsk University of Technology. The event was organized by the Young Researchers Office and the Young Researchers Team of Gdańsk Tech. It brought together early-career researchers, including PhD students, creating a space for honest and open dialogue about the needs and challenges faced at various stages of an academic career at our university.

The meeting was opened by PhD Eng. Roksana Licow, Chair of the Young Researchers Team, who presented the results of a survey conducted among young researchers at Gdańsk Tech. The results pointed to both existing barriers and areas that have improved compared to the previous survey in 2022.

ENHANCE Summit 2025: Connecting European Universities in Gdańsk

Gdańsk University of Technology will have a great pleasure to host Enhance+ Work Package 7 & Core Officers & Communications Officers Annual Meeting from 23 -25 June 2025 in Gdańsk.

We are expecting 70 colleagues from ten European Universities of the Alliance to arrive for the Summit in Gdańsk.

Programme of the meeting is packed with study workshops and discussion panels, integration informal coffee breaks, business lunches, also social evening programme with networking dinners.

Education, Mobility & Communication Officers will provide updates and reviews on progress looking at the past and the future goals in Education Paths work pages 7 across the Alliance.
