napis Library Information Skills i obrazek nauczyciela i ucznia w szkolnej ławce

The Gdańsk Tech Library offers "Library Information Skills e-course" to the students enrolled in English-language degree programmes at Gdańsk Tech Library. Information skills, or in other words information literacy, means knowing what kind of information a student is looking for, where to find it, how to evaluate, communicate and use it in a presentation, article or diploma in an ethical way. The library system should be treated as a gateway to the quality information.

– We have finished the academic year which could be described with one word: "demanding". We faced challenges that we would not have been able to imagine a few years ago. All the time, however, we undertook actions that were sufficiently quick and appropriate to the situation, which translated into the fact that today we can agree – this year was a big step forward for Gdańsk University of Technology – said the rector, prof. Krzysztof Wilde during the ceremonial session of the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology, inaugurating the academic year 2022/2023.

The ceremonial session of the Senate began with the reading of letters containing best wishes for the new academic year. The letter of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, was read by his advisor, Piotr Karczewski, and the letter from Mateusz Morawiecki, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland – by Dariusz Drelich, the Pomeranian Voivode. In turn, the words addressed to the academic community by the minister of education were read by prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech.
