Gdańsk University of Technology authorities for the 2020-2024 term

A new term of office of Gdańsk University of Technology starts at the beginning of September. Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, PhD, DSC, Eng. Corresponding member of the PAS will still be the rector, while the current vice-rectors will remain in their posts. In six of the nine faculties, the deans will be replaced by new persons and the deputy deans will also change. The new term of the GUT Senate in a changed composition will also start.

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde will be the rector of Gdańsk University of Technology for the next four years.

The rector, elected in the elections held on 9 April, appointed vice-rectors who had previously held these functions. They are:

• PhD, DSc, Eng. Marek Dzida, university professor, vice-rector for education

• prof. PhD, DSc, Eng. Dariusz Mikielewicz, vice-rector for organization and development

Recruitment results. Economics and mechatronics are the most popular fields of study

Economics, mechatronics and spatial development - these are the most popular fields of study at Gdańsk University of Technology in recruitment for the 2020/2021 academic year. There were over 15 applicants for one place in these fields of study. The greatest number of candidates was recorded in IT and civil engineering. Over 25.8 thousand people applied for a place in full-time and part-time studies, 4385 people were admitted.

The recruitment results were published on the candidates' recruitment accounts.

A total of 23 770 candidates (including 23 002 for first-cycle studies) applied for a place in full-time studies, 3 721 people were admitted (including 3 495 for first-cycle studies).

GUT rector is a vice-chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of GUT
Professor Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, was elected vice-president of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPTU) for the 2020-2024 term. The vote took place on 28 August during a remote general meeting and elections.

The chairman of KRPTU in the new term of office will be prof. Teofil Jesionowski, rector of the Poznań University of Technology. Prof. Jerzy Lis, rector-elect of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and prof. PhD, DSc, Eng. Krzysztof Jóźwik, rector-elect of the Lodz University of Technology were elected vice-chairmen of KRPTU.

For the second time in a row, the International MBA Program conducted at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology was included in the international QS ranking, which classifies the best MBA Executive programs in the world. This year, the study program and career development of MBA GUT graduates were appreciated.

The MBA program ‘International MBA in Strategy, Programmme and Project Management’ at the GUT Faculty of  Management and Economics has been classified in the QS Executive MBA Rankings 2020 in the range of 101+ universities from around the world, among prestigious universities such as MIT (USA), Stanford (USA) , London Business School (UK), Berkeley (USA), and IESE Business School (Spain).
