The first part of the meeting was attended by the rectors of three leading universities in the region: prof. Krzysztof Wilde (Gdańsk University of Technology), prof. Michał Markuszewski, Vice-Rector for Science (Medical University of Gdańsk) and prof. Piotr Stepnowski (University of Gdańsk). The webinar was led by Piotr Markowski, representing the Gdańsk Tech special purpose vehicle Excento.

Gdańsk Tech appears yet again in the prestigious QS World University Rankings
This year's QS World University Rankings, presenting the best universities from around the world, covered 93 countries. 145 new participants were included in the ranking. A total of over 1,600 universities were assessed and considered for the ranking, however, only 1,300 of the best universities were finally classified according to the rules of the ranking.
Gdańsk Tech is the best among Polish universities in the area of scientific impact
The CWTS Leiden Ranking is based on bibliographic data from the Web of Science (WoS) database, and this year's edition, covering 1,225 universities from 69 countries, focuses on publications from 2016-2019. The ranking classifies universities according to 4 indicators: scientific impact, collaboration, the number of open access publications and gender diversity. It is also published broken down into 5 scientific areas:
