Reliability of scientific research

This means conducting scientific research in a way that guarantees its high quality, prevents abuses and allows us to have confidence in the methods used and research results. The aim of conducting research is to systematically acquire knowledge, leading to further development of science and improving the quality of education, therefore the research conducted must be reliable and conducted in a transparent manner.

Patents and inventions

The evaluation takes into account patents and protection rights for utility models and exclusive rights of breeders to plant varieties, the subject of which is substantively related to scientific research conducted at the entity in a given scientific discipline, as well as the commercialization of the results of scientific research or development work, the subject of which concerns a given scientific discipline.

The following numbers of points are awarded for patents for inventions granted to entities undergoing evaluation:

Scientific monographs

According to the applicable regulations, a scientific monograph is a peer-reviewed book publication presenting a specific scientific issue in an original and creative way, and which is provided with footnotes, a bibliography or other information appropriate for a given scientific discipline. A scientific monograph is also a peer-reviewed translation into Polish of a work important for science or culture, or a translation into another modern language of a work important for science or culture, published in Polish.

Articles and conferences

According to the applicable regulations, a scientific article is a peer-reviewed article published in a scientific journal or in the peer-reviewed materials of an international scientific conference that presents a specific scientific issue in an original and creative, problematic or cross-sectional way, and is accompanied by footnotes, bibliography or other information appropriate for the given scientific discipline. A scientific article is also a review article published in a scientific journal included in the list of journals.

Evaluation of the quality of scientific activities in 2026

The evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the years 2022-2025 will take place in January 2026. As in the case of the previous evaluation (for the years 20217-2021), this one will also take into account scientific disciplines, not faculties. In order for a university to submit a given discipline for evaluation, this discipline must be represented by at least 12 scientists classified as N, employed full-time.
