Gdańsk University of Technology in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023

Gdańsk University of Technology was ranked 4th among Polish universities in the "Engineering & Technology" group of subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023, universities are classified into groups of subjects (the so-called Broad Subjects) and detailed subjects (the so-called narrow subjects). Gdańsk University of Technology was classified in the "Engineering & Technology" group of subjects, where it received a total of 63.1 points, which allowed it to take 391th place on a global scale.

Scholarships - results

The Scholarship Committee selected the best newly admitted international student for second-cycle studies, who was awarded a one-year scholarship. Congratulations.

Applications for scholarships could be submitted by international students admitted to second-cycle studies at Gdańsk University of Technology for the academic year 2022/2023. The Competition Committee, whose meeting took place on March 27, 2023, decided to award one scholarship in the amount of PLN 1,250 per month for the academic year 2022/2023 (with the option of extending it for another year if the academic year is passed without credit score debt).

Nuclear energy in modern economy – new postgraduate studies

Gdańsk University of Technology has started admission for postgraduate studies: Nuclear energy in modern economy. This is a response to the need for experts in this field in connection with the energy transformation. Applications are accepted until 14 April.

The energy transition leading to zero-emission energy supply systems is a serious challenge facing modern economy. One of the key technologies in this transformation is nuclear energy. Poland, as a potential investor in the latest generation nuclear units, needs competent staff to assess the rationality of development projects, investment implementation, as well as those with the skills to safely operate nuclear power plants.

First Science Speed Dating in Poland

Science Speed Dating FarU is the first such event organized by the academic community in Poland. The purpose of the meetings is to intensify inter-university and interdisciplinary research topics from three Universities - the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk.  

The event will take the form of short, thematic meetings, during which participants will have the opportunity to establish a network of contacts and exchange their experiences related to applying for and implementing grant competitions. The program will include lectures by invited guests and a Science Speed Dating session, during which participants will conduct 3-minute conversations.

The funds awarded under the competition will increase the
level of quality of scientific activity of the Gdansk University of Technology. Under the program, it is possible to obtain a university grant to finance the costs of ongoing research and development of young scientists in areas consistent with the activities of the Priority Centers of PG's Research Areas.

In the completed call, 33 high-potential applications were submitted, 22 of which received funding, divided into 4 Priority Research Area Centers:
