Doctoral scholarship from January 2023

We would like to inform you that according to the Regulation of the Ministry of Education and Science dated January 2, 2023, amending the Regulation on the amount of the minimum monthly basic salary for a professor in a public university, the amount of the minimum monthly basic salary for a professor in a public university increases from PLN 6.410,00 to the amount of PLN 7.210,00.

This means that the amounts of the doctoral scholarship will be as follows:

The funds awarded in the second edition of the program constitute scholarships for particularly talented, based on the achievements obtained at the previous educational stage, students beginning full-time studies of the first or second degree at Gdansk University of Technology.

Based on the ranking list of evaluated applications presented by the Evaluation Committee, the Rector of Gdansk University of Technology awarded:

  • 11 ACTINIUM scholarships for first-degree students who scored a minimum of 63.5 points;
  • 2 ACTINIUM scholarships for second-degree students who scored a minimum of 405.9 points.

The scholarships were awarded in the amount of PLN 1000 per month for a period of 10 months, i.e. from October 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023.

ESNsurvey is a Europe-wide research project addressing various topics related to mobility and education, such as economic, culture, languages, accessibility of mobility for people with special needs and many others. It is worth emphasizing that it is also the largest project of this type carried out solely by volunteers.

Summing up the year 2022 at Gdańsk University of Technology

Awarded inventions, investments counted in hundreds of millions of zlotys, recognition in international rankings, cooperation with leading European technical universities, one of the best results of evaluation of research activity in the country, organization of important events - in 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology consistently achieved its goals. The community of our university also showed solidarity with the Ukrainian nation.

In the Domestic Forefront, Noticed Abroad

In 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology strengthened its presence in the most important international rankings. It was among 11 Polish universities in the so-called Shanghai ranking (Academic Ranking of World Universities), which is considered the most prestigious ranking of universities in the world. In this year's ranking, our university maintained its position in the 801-900 range and recorded a point increase in two ranking indicators: PUB and PCP.

Monika Śmiełowska, PhD, Eng., is the winner of the Prime Minister's Award!

Mrs. Monika Śmiełowska, PhD, DSc, was granted the Prime Minister's Award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation.

Monika Śmiełowska completed her doctoral thesis at the Department of Analytical Chemistry. The thesis was entitled: "New solutions in the analytics of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) for samples with a complex matrix composition". The defense of the dissertation took place on 30 September 2021. The supervisor of the thesis was prof. Bożena Czekała, PhD, DSc, Eng. (Gdańsk University of Technology), and its reviewers were: prof. Bogusław Buszewski, PhD, DSc (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń) and Sylwia Bajkacz, PhD, DSc, Eng.

ENHANCE invites students for the data literacy winter school

Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with Technische Universität Berlin and Universitat Politècnica de València invites students to sign up for the free-of-charge Data Literacy ENHANCE Winter School (February/March 2023). The deadline for registration is January 20th. 

Data Literacy ENHANCE Winter School is organized by Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with Technische Universität Berlin and Universitat Politècnica de València under the Blended Intensive Programme (Erasmus+). The project is implemented as part of the ENHANCE - a consortium of technical universities, of which Gdańsk University of Technology has also been a member since 2022 (hence Gdańsk Tech students can take part in the event).

Results of the Radium Learning Through Research Programs call

Eleven creative projects designed to support particularly talented students engaging in research activities in topics related to priority research areas have received funding under the program for a total value of more than PLN 229,000.

Implementation of the projects will make it possible to finance the costs of ongoing research by second-level students in Individual Research Studies.
