Fahrenheit Scholarships for overseas students awarded

Three overseas PhD students have been selected to receive the Daniel Fahrenheit Scholarship funded by the Mayor of Gdańsk in consultation with the Fahrenheit Universities. This is the first edition of a new category of scholarships awarded by the City of Gdańsk.

The winners will continue their interdisciplinary research as part of their doctoral dissertation at one of the Fahrenheit Universities during the one-year internship. The winners are entitled not only to a scholarship at PLN 6,500 net per month for the entire duration of their stay, but also to free accommodation.

The first defended PhD thesis in the new education system

Mohammad Malikan was the first person to defend his doctoral thesis in the new system of doctoral education (Doctoral School) at Gdańsk University of Technology. It took him only 2.5 years to complete his doctoral studies and write his thesis.  

Mohammad Malikan, PhD, was educated in the discipline of Civil Engineering and Transportation. The supervisor of his doctoral thesis was prof. Victor Eremeev. The reviewers of the work were:

Mohammad Malikan was the first person who defend his doctoral thesis in the new system of doctoral education (Doctoral School) at Gdańsk University of Technology. It took him only 2.5 years to complete his doctoral studies and write his thesis.

Quantum and Molecules II (QUEUE II) Winter School at Gdańsk Tech

Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of Gdańsk Tech invites international students to the second edition of an intensive hybrid school on Quantum Chemistry - Quantum and Molecules II (QUEUE II), organized within the ScienceApp project.

The event will be held this winter, between  6 February and 10 February, 2023. 

QUEUE II is perfect for all young scientists and students who wish to learn the basics and the advances in quantum ideas and methodologies, along with their practical applications in chemistry, electrochemistry, and material sciences.

OTM-R Policy Implementation Plan

On 8 November 2022, pursuant to the Regulation No. 73/2022, the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology adopted the rules of the Policy for the recruitment of academic teachers at Gdańsk University of Technology, named the OTM-R Policy.
These rules are based on open, transparent, merit-based recruitment rules developed by the European Commission. 

Project management and program coordination - two IDUB conferences

"Project management at Polish technical universities" and "1st conference of the teams coordinating the IDUB program" are two events that were organized in October by Gdańsk University of Technology. The meetings were attended by representatives of ten universities that obtained the status of research universities under the IDUB program and fifteen technical universities from all over Poland.

The conference "Project management at Polish technical universities" (25-26 October) concerned primarily the regulations related to the realization of projects, solutions and problems in the process of implementing the PACT's assumptions and IT systems supporting project management at universities. On the second day of the conference, participants shared their experiences related to the use of various types of IT solutions that are implemented and used at universities to support project management processes.
