PhD student and graduate of the Doctoral School among Poland’s top 100 researchers under 30

Each year, the programme recognises the 100 most promising researchers under the age of 30 from all scientific disciplines.

Two types of materials, self-monitoring and self-healing capabilities, sensor integration directly into the material structure, and 3D printing technology – these are just some of the advanced elements of the research conducted at Gdańsk University of Technology as part of the SMART-S2H3D project led by Professor Magdalena Rucka.

The goal of the project is to develop a new class of multifunctional composites that could revolutionize civil, mechanical, aerospace, and biomedical engineering in the future. Our doctoral students – MSc Eng. Błażej Woźny and MSc Eng. Tomasz Ciborowski who – are also involved in the research. They began their training at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech in the academic year 2024/2025.

The Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of Gdańsk Tech warmly invites PhD students, researchers, and anyone interested in analyzing complex, unexplored data sets to participate in the summer school titled: “Advanced Measurement Methods with Smart Sensing Using Machine Learning”, which will take place at Gdańsk University of Technology.

A special highlight of the event will be three days of practical hands-on workshops conducted by representatives of MathWorks, the producer of the MATLAB software package.

The Forum of Young Diplomats, the Student Scientific Circle of International Relations at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, the Student Parliament of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Student and Cadet Government of the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine have the honor of inviting you to participate in the International Scientific Conference entitled "Security and Cooperation in Europe."

Fahrenheit Universities invite international PhD students for one-year internship (15.06)

The Fahrenheit Universities are recruiting the international PhD students to the 4rd edition of the scholarship programme of the Mayor of Gdańsk. Within the programme, it is possible to enrol a scholarship holder for 12 months – this is an opportunity to expand the research team by another person and involve them in ongoing projects or initiate new ones.

Until June 15, doctoral students from abroad can submit applications and compete for a monthly paid scholarship combined with an internship at one of the universities forming the Fahrenheit Universities. Winners will also be provided with accommodation and reimbursement of travel expenses.

At the application stage they need to indicate the host university in which they are planning to continue their research as part of their doctoral dissertation and support the university during that time.

Third-party liability and accident insurance – updated tab

We would like to inform you that the content of PhD students -> Formalities -> Insurance and contributions -> Third-party liability and accident insurance tab has been updated.

Third-party liability (OC) and accident (NNW) insurance is voluntary and must be purchased individually by the PhD student. A simplified way of purchasing the insurance has been introduced – it is now possible to do it independently via the website https://bezpieczny.pl/ (in Polish only) by selecting both accident insurance (NNW) and third-party liability insurance (OC).
