XIV Maritime Convention at Gdańsk Tech

On 5 December Gdańsk University of Technology housed the 14th meeting of the Maritime Convention - an advisory body established in 2016 by the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Grzegorz Witkowski and the Pomeranian Voivode Dariusz Drelich.

The main theme of the convention was Polish maritime security and increasing the defense capabilities of the Navy.

Sign up for yoga classes

The International Relations Office invites students and staff to sign up for the yoga classes organized as part of the "Hey, are you OK?" project. Registration is open until January 13th. The number of places is limited - it's worth hurrying!

If you were not able to enroll in yoga classes in the first autumn-winter edition nothing lost! We cordially invite you to register for meetings that will start in January and last until April.


How to sign up?

Registration for yoga classes will last from December 5th to January 13th. Dates of classes of individual groups:

group III (classes: 24.01, 7.02, 21.03, 21.03, 4.04 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)
group IV (classes: 31.01, 14.02, 28.03, 14.03, 28.03, 11.04 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)

Francium Supporting Outstanding Doctoral Candidates

The Francium Supporting Outstanding Doctoral Candidates Program is part of the implementation of the tasks of the IDUB Program, which is aimed at stimulating the research activity of doctoral students of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, and in particular at directing this activity towards cooperation with foreign entities. Within the program pro-quality scholarships are granted to outstanding participants of the Doctoral School, especially to doctoral students conducting research in international cooperation.

Mindfulness classes- registration closed

MINDFULNESS
The International Relations Office invites students and staff to sign up for mindfulness classes organized as part of the "Hey, are you OK?" project. Applications are accepted until January 6th. The number of places is limited - don't miss it!

After yoga classes, which enjoyed great interest among staff and students, the International Relations Office invites you to participate in mindfulness meetings. It's a great way to de-stress, calm down and start the new year 2023 with good energy.

Let’s share kindness. St. Nicholas Day in front of the Main Building

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, invites the entire academic community to celebrate St. Nicholas Day in a small tent city on the square in front of the Main Building, on 6 December (Tuesday). Let’s have a meeting over a cup of tea and gingerbread at the Christmas tree, and share kindness. The Rector announces rector’s hours (no classes) from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. on that day.

There will be hot winter tea, non-alcoholic mulled wine and gingerbread game prepared and waiting for you on the square in front of the Main Building from 11:45 a.m. The Rector will turn on the Christmas lights on the Christmas tree at 12:15 p.m. Our DJ will select the most beautiful and the merriest Christmas songs from all around the world and invite you to request a song you wish to hear. There will also be a chance for everyone to dedicate the selected song to their friends.

Employees of our university took part in the cycling competition "Cycle for Sopot"

Employees of the Gdansk Tech are aware of the role played by active mobility in commuting to and from work. That is why they take part in an increasing number of cycling competitions such as "Spin the kilometers for Gdańsk", or - organised within the Association of Fahrenheit Universities - the "Bike to University" campaign and the "Cycle for Sopot" action, in which 556 participants from 58 companies and organisations took part. All campaign participants cycled 308,000 km, saved 77.2 tonnes of CO2 emissions, as well as burning 8.6 million calories.

On 25 November, during ENHANCE Leadership Meeting in Aachen, the authorities of three universities received signed Memorandums of Understanding. Apart from Gdańsk University of Technology, new members included Delft University of Technology and ETH Zurich.

Entering into the Alliance entails increased cooperation within the scope of research and teaching, aimed at forming a technical university with the highest level of education.

On 25 November, during ENHANCE Leadership Meeting in Aachen, the authorities of three universities received signed Memorandums of Understanding. Apart from Gdańsk University of Technology, new members included Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and ETH Zurich (Switzerland).  

Entering into the Alliance entails increased cooperation within the scope of research and teaching, aimed at forming a technical university with the highest level of education.
