Gdańsk Tech to sign a cooperation agreement with Dezhou University, China

On September 19, a meeting was held in the Senate Hall between representatives of Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) and a delegation from Dezhou University (China), during which a new framework cooperation agreement was signed.

The representatives from Dezhou University visited Gdańsk for a three-day visit, the main purpose of which was to sign a cooperation agreement with Gdańsk Tech, including, among other things, the implementation of joint degree programs. The agreement confirms the intention to continue the long-standing cooperation between the two universities.

The September visit of the Dezhou University delegation takes on particular significance in the context of this year's 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and the People's Republic of China.

Representatives of the authorities of Chungnam National University from South Korea met with the authorities of Gdansk University of Technology, Medical University of Gdańsk and University of Gdańsk The meeting focused on academic cooperation and was an opportunity to showcase the potential of Fahrenheit University. Guests from South Korea visited the campuses of Gdańsk universities, including STOS Competence Center with its server rooms at Gdańsk Tech.

The meeting began in the senate hall at the Atheneum Gedanense Novum at Medical University of Gdańsk , and was preceded by individual presentations by each university - first by the host, Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Rector of MUG, followed by Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, and Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of UG and chairman of the Union Assembly. Chungnam National University was represented by Prof. Jeong-Kyoum Kim, President, Prof.

Acquisition of PhD student status

In order to obtain the status of a PhD student, receive a PhD student ID card, receive a scholarship and be reported for insurance, it is necessary to approach matriculation (signing the oath deed) and provide additional documents between 24 and 30 September 2024.1

62 scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology have once again been included in the World’s TOP 2% Scientists ranking, which takes into consideration researchers whose publications are most frequently cited by other authors in the world. The ranking is prepared annually by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier.

The World’s TOP 2% Scientists ranking is based on the scientific achievements of researchers, and the evaluation criteria include: the number of citations, the Hirsch index, or the position and role of a given researcher on the list of authors of the publication. The ranking consists of two lists: the first assesses scientific achievements taking into account the entire career of a given researcher, the second concerns the last calendar year.

62 scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology have again been placed in the list of the World's TOP 2% Scientists, including our outstanding alumnus, who completed his training and wrote his thesis in just 2.5 years - dr inż. Mohammad Malikan.

Awarding the "Entrepreneurial University Accreditation" certificate to the Gdańsk University of Technology during the ACEEU Forum in Lisbon

ACEEU Certificate
Gdańsk University of Technology received the "Entrepreneurial University Accreditation" certificate. The recognition ceremony took place on September 19, 2024 during the ACEEU Stakeholder Forum in Lisbon. The award was received on behalf of the Gdańsk University of Technology by Agnieszka Cholewińska and Anna Tomkiel from the Strategic Analysis Center.

Gdańsk University of Technology is the first technical university in the world with dual ACEEU accreditation.

Participation in the ACEEU Stakeholder Forum is also an opportunity to exchange experiences between universities. This year's main theme was the aspect of entrepreneurship in research and science.

Applying for scholarships in the winter semester 2024/2025

From 7 to 21 October 2024, the Scholarship Committee accepts applications for the maintenance scholarship, the Rector's scholarship and the scholarship for people with disabilities. To receive a scholarship for the full period, you must submit an application by the above deadline.

We invite students to the Committee's office in Bratniak (building no. 23, rooms 204-205) during office hours, especially if you are not sure whether your application is complete.
