Employee of the Bonding Engineering Department, MSc. Adrian Wolski, together with the co-author, MSc, Eng. Katarzyna Mielnicka received the first prize in the competition for the best engineering project and thesis in the field of welding "Diamenty PTS" organized by the Polish Welding Society. Adrian Wolski received the award (industrial internship funded by IPG Photonics Ltd.

Six outstandingly talented young scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology are among the scholarship holders of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. PhD, Eng. Mariusz Szkoda was among the twelve best young scientists from all over Poland who received the Prime Minister's Award for a distinguished doctoral dissertation and scientific activity in 2018. On 26 November 2019, at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, the second national conference of the Polish Quality Award "Polish Quality in the 100th Anniversary of Independence 1918-1921" took place together with the final of the 25th edition of the Polish Quality Award competition.

On the 24^th of July 2019, PhD Eng. Rafał Gawin, a graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology and a former PhD student of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, was appointed President of the Energy Regulatory Office. The nomination on behalf of the Prime Minister was presented by Krzysztof Tchórzewski, Minister of Energy.
