Gdańsk Tech establishes cooperation with the University of Illinois

For the following five years, Gdańsk University of Technology will be cooperating with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) within the scope of student and doctoral student education, and joint research.

On June 29, Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) signed a letter of intent concerning potential areas of cooperation between the universities. The document, binding for five years, was signed by Prof. Krzysztof Wilde and Prof. Leszek Kalinowski from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Gdańsk Tech), proxy of the rector for the doctoral program conducted with the University of Illinois, and from UIUC by Prof. Mark Anastasio (on-line), dean of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Prof.

Southbound railway – the best designs rewarded in FarU and PKM competition

What should the stops of the new PKM South (in Polish „PKM Południe”) line look like and what should be done to make the passenger railway most environmentally and residentially friendly? We have the winners of the competition organized by the Fahrenheit Union of Universities and the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway S.A. (PKM).

The task of students was to prepare an architectural and urban study of the passenger railway on the new section of PKM South line, planned by the Pomeranian government, taking into account functional and spatial solutions, social and environmental aspects and containing innovative technological solutions.

Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub selected as the European center of digital transformation

The European Commission has selected the Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub (PDIH) consortium coordinated by the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone (PSEZ) / Gdańsk Science and Technology Park (GSTP) as one of several national centers responsible for digital transformation in Poland.

In total, only 136 centers of this type were selected throughout the European Union, which were given the status of European Digital Innovation Hub - EDIH. They will play a key role as regional one-stop-shops where companies will be able to find a comprehensive set of information and services, including the necessary pilot infrastructure to meet their digital and green transformation needs.

Gdańsk Tech becomes the Polish Academic Champion for the third time in a row!

Nearly 20,000 students from 130 universities across the country competed for the title of the best university in the country during PAC 2022. As in the previous two years, the title was awarded to Gdańsk University of Technology!

Once again, our university took part in all the disciplines that are part of the PAC. Only the main competitor of Gdańsk Tech - the University of Warsaw – also succeeded to do so.

QS World University Rankings – Gdańsk Tech with an even better result

In this year's edition of the ranking of the best universities from around the world, Gdańsk University of Technology for the fourth year in a row ranked in the range of 801-1000. Gdańsk Tech improved its result by 5 percent, placing itself in the TOP 57 percent of universities in the world included in the list.

This year's QS World University Rankings, presenting the best universities from around the world, covered 100 countries. There were 124 new participants in the ranking. A total of 2,462 universities were assessed and their inclusion in the ranking was considered, however, only 1,422 best universities were finally classified according to the ranking rules.

Perspektywy ranking
Gdańsk University of Technology was placed 3rd in the ranking of the best technical universities and 6th in the classification of all universities in the country, in this year’s ranking of “Perspektywy” Education Foundation. In the ranking by subject, field of study „Environmental Engineering”, the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdańsk Tech, was ranked the 1st in Poland.

Perspektywy University Ranking" has been organized since 1999 and is the most important and the most popular ranking of this type in Poland. It takes into account all universities: both public and private (except for academies of art), which have at least one entitlement to award doctoral degrees and have a minimum of 200 full-time students. The correctness and reliability of the ranking is supervised by the Ranking Board, chaired by Prof.
