Team of Prof. Zbigniew Krzemiński winners of the Grand Challenge: Energy competition

Team of Prof. Zbigniew Krzemiński
The MMB team from Gdańsk, composed mostly of the graduates of Gdańsk University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Zbigniew Krzemiński, Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering at Gdańk Tech, won the Grand Challenge: Energy competition, which final took place on Saturday, 16 October at PGE National Stadium. The team won 1 million PLN prize for the best prototype of a home wind turbine.

The competition was organized by the National Centre for Research and Development, thanks to the support of the European Funds under the Smart Growth Operational Programme.

Scholarship for the new international students - open call

Gdańsk University of Technology Relations Office invites newly enrolled foreigners to apply for a scholarship. Best 5 bachelor students and best 2 master students will receive monthly scholarship in amount 1250 PLN.

Who can apply?

Foreigners newly enrolled for I and II cycle studies on the tuition fee payment basis (according to Annexe to the Rector's Circular Letter No. 63/2020 of 10 December 2020).

MSc Eng Eryka Mrotek from Faculty of Chemistry received an award named after Professor Romuald Szczęsny for the best diploma thesis on modern technologies at Gdańsk University of Technology.

Scientists from Gdańsk Tech laureates of the Siemens Award Competition

Scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology won two main awards in the 26th Siemens Award Competition - the award for a research project and the promotional award for a doctoral dissertation. Graduates of the first-cycle studies are among the laureates. Apart from the attractive financial prize, the winner projects that respond to the needs of the market and the economy, get the chance of being implemented and applied as part of Siemens technological solutions

The goal of the competition organized by Siemens in cooperation with Warsaw University of Technology, is to promote the outstanding technical and scientific research achievements, conducted by the employees of academic and non-academic institutions in Poland, as well as graduates of universities.

We are celebrating Erasmus Days

For the fifth time in Europe, we will be celebrating Erasmus Days (14-16 October). For this occasion,  in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network Gdańsk,  the International Relations Office prepared activities in social media with the participation of Polish and international students of Gdańsk Tech.

In 2020, as part of the Erasmus Days celebration, over 5,000 events - webinars, exhibitions, concerts, open days and other meetings, took place in 84 countries. Over 3900 events organized by universities, secondary and primary schools and other Erasmus + program beneficiaries from all over Europe have already been submitted to this year's edition of the event. The aim of Erasmus Days is to promote the effects of the program and its impact on the development of education and higher education in EU countries and partner countries.

Success of Gdańsk urban planners - CRUNCH Time at the Venice Biennale of Architecture

Crunch
An international research team composed among others of scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology presented the results of their research at the prestigious Architecture Biennale in Venice - the most important event in the world of architects. The CRUNCH project aims to forecast the possibilities of innovative use of resources such as water, energy and food in order to manage them more efficiently in the future.  

CRUNCH shows how the Food-Water-Energy Nexus (FWE NEXUS) can enhance the resilience of cities. All the cities involved (Portsmouth, Gdańsk, Miami, Taipei, Eindhoven, Uppsala), taking part in experimental laboratories - Urban Living Laboratories, test and analyze solutions in the urban tissue using various scenarios.
