Open call for the PROM program. Apply by February 9

The recruitment for the PROM mobility program – short-term academic exchange – has opened. We encourage employees, PhD students, and students to submit their applications. The recruitment is open until February 9. The program coordinator is the International Relations Office.


Let’s remind – last autumn, the International Relations Office, in cooperation with the Doctoral School and faculties, secured almost PLN 2 million from the National Agency for Academic Exchange to implement the PROM project. As a result, about 180 employees, PhD students, and students from Gdańsk Tech will be able to benefit from funding for international trips, while about 80 individuals from foreign universities will receive support for visits to Gdańsk. The project will be implemented until the end of September 2025.

[Updated 04.02.2025] NOTE! Increasingly, we are being asked by PhD students interested in trips within the PROM program to sign an approval by the Doctoral School Director. According to the School's rules, the supervisor of the PhD student is the PhD student's supervisor.

Join the fun and showcase yourself and your data in a creative way. Choose one of the thematic categories and show what excites you: your research, studies, work, or hobby.

To celebrate the international research data event LOVE DATA WEEK 2025 (February 10-14, 2025), the PG Library invites you to participate in the fun contest "Me and My Data".

This event aligns with this year’s theme – "Whose Data Is It, Anyway?" – and aims to encourage participants to create creative presentations showcasing themselves as data creators. The emphasis is placed on highlighting the data creator at the moment of data generation before it is deposited, shared, or processed.

[5th-6th-year PhD students] Completion of the 5th-6th-year at the Doctoral School for AY 2024/2025

Settlement of the 5th and 6th year, for PhD students with an extended deadline for the submission of their dissertation, is linked to the submission of:  

  • Report on scientific research progress since the last extension at the Doctoral School 

Transferring, obtaining signatures of decision makers, and approving documents at the Doctoral School is conducted in the MojaPG system -> Student -> eDocuments.

From Gdańsk to Cambridge. Research that can help develop disease therapies

Krzysztof Kamil Bojarski, PhD, from the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology, as a laureate of the Bekker Scholarship Program of the National Agency for Academic Exchange, will carry out a research project at the University of Cambridge in cooperation with the group of Prof. David Wales, known for groundbreaking research in the field of computational chemistry. His work may contribute to the development of new therapies for diseases such as cancer, osteoporosis, or rheumatoid arthritis.

As part of the Bekker Scholarship, Krzysztof Bojarski, PhD, will receive funding for the implementation of the project "Towards a better understanding of the role of glycosaminoglycans in regulating the enzymatic activity of cathepsins", which is a continuation of his previous research in projects from the PRELUDIUM and SONATINA programs of the National Science Center.

(Update 22.05) [2nd-4th-year PhD students] Completion of the 2nd-4th-year of PhD training for AY 2024/2025

Settlement of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years is related to the submission of: 

  • the Annual report on research progress / PhD training at Doctoral School – all PhD students, 
  • the Questionnaire for assessing the progress of the PhD student's scientific work (after the 2nd year) - only in the case of 2nd-year PhD students.

Marcin Jaskólski, Deputy Director of the NEC, was a guest on the TVP3 Gdańsk program ‘Raport Gospodarczy’. The second part of the episode was dedicated to the future of energy in the country and in the Pomerania region, as well as the first nuclear power plant being developed in our region.
