[3rd and 4th-year PhD students] Doctoral examination
Please be informed that all PhD students are obliged to pass a doctoral examination no later than in the 4th year of PhD training. The exam verifies your knowledge at an advanced level in the discipline in which the PhD training is conducted. The exam is organized by the Discipline Council / Field Council / Scientific Council of the institute, supervising education at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, and its result is confirmed in the examination report.
[4th-year PhD students] Extension of deadline for submission of doctoral dissertation
Due to the fact that the 4-th year PhD students (enrollment for a.y. 2022/2023) should complete their PhD training and submit the dissertation in approaching semester, we kindly remind you that according to the regulations of the school (§23), in justified cases, the deadline for submitting a doctoral dissertation may be extended at the request of a doctoral student.
One-time extension is granted for the period indicated in the application, but not longer than one year. The total extension period shall not exceed two years.
Literature review seminar – summary
During the seminar, participants were introduced to structured and practical methods for navigating the literature review process, which can significantly support the preparation of research projects, academic articles, and theses. The event also provided an opportunity to deepen methodological knowledge, exchange experiences, and discuss best practices related to conducting a systematic literature review.
Additional call under the Francium program

All active doctoral students in their 3rd and 4th year of doctoral training are eligible to apply, as well as doctoral students who were granted an extension of their training to the 5th year due to COVID-19 related violations (this does not apply to other 5th-year PhD candidates).
Training for Assessors in the Future Universities Project
MES coordinators in the Future Universities project, representing Gdańsk University of Technology – Agnieszka Krysiak, Head of the Education Office and Agnieszka Lendzion, Head of the Young Researchers Office – took part in the next stage of assessor training on 13–14 January.
Gdańsk Tech as the only foreign partner in the French MucFib project
Adam Macierzanka, PhD, DSc, Eng., professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology, is a co-applicant for the international research project MucFib (Impact of legume dietary fibres on piglet small intestinal mucosa), which has received funding from the French government under the ANR-AAPG-2025 programme. The project will be implemented from 2026 to 2029, with a total budget of EUR 336,234.
