The Research and Training Center for Ship Maneuvering in Iława, co-owned by Gdańsk University of Technology, has its patron - Capt. Zbigniew Sulatycki. The ceremony of unveiling the plaque commemorating giving the facility his name was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki and Marek Gróbarczyk, secretary of state and government plenipotentiary for water management and investments in maritime and water management.

The training center for captains and pilots of ships, located on Lake Silm in Kamionka near Iława, is among only three such institutions in Europe and five in the world. Here, captains from all over the world learn to guide their ships through locks, canals and enter ports. In recognition of many years of work for the development of the Polish maritime industry and the facility itself, it will now be named after Capt. Zbigniew Sulatycki, Master Mariner.

Almost 500 international students from 39 countries – admission for international students

Recrutation
Almost 500 international students from 39 countries were admitted to study at Gdańsk University of Technology in the academic year 2022/2023.

The number of international students is one of the important indicators taken into account when assessing the degree of internationalization of universities.
