A new approach to student education

"Universities of the Future" is a unique project designed to develop and implement an innovative, personalized education system for undergraduate students. It involves 12 partner universities, including Gdańsk University of Technology, alongside the National Centre for Research and Development, which serves as the coordinating institution.

This alternative to the traditional education model, known as the Personalized Education Model (PEM), is intended to be based on students’ original projects and dynamic collaboration with the socio-economic environment. Students will receive both academic and formal support from mentors in academia and industry, financial support up to 20,000 PLN, and access to specially tailored micro-courses and group workshops on innovation, commercialization, and project management.

Revised Academic Staff Recruitment Policy from December 2024

Effective December 1, 2024, Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) will implement a new Academic Staff Recruitment Policy, based on open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment principles, known as the OTM-R Policy (Open, Transparent, and Merit-based Recruitment of Researchers Policy, OTM-R Policy). This policy was introduced by Rector’s Directive No. 41/2024.

The aim of the OTM-R Policy is to provide equal opportunities, fair treatment, and equal access to all candidates, both domestic and international, applying for academic positions at Gdańsk University of Technology.

 The TITANIUM program is an element of the tasks of the IDUB program in the scope of increasing the transfer of knowledge and technology.

For whom?

An application for funding may be submitted by an employee, doctoral student or student of the Gdansk University of Technology.

Co-financing may be granted only for activities concerning inventions to which the University will be entitled - in whole or in part - to property rights, and the University is not subject to restrictions on the commercial use of the invention.

Gdańsk Tech and the Lost Elven Scrolls - a field game

The Gdańsk Tech Library and the Institute of Applied Mathematics (Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics), invite everyone, especially first-year students, to join an exciting field game titled "Gdańsk University of Technology and the Lost Elven Scrolls" ("Politechnika Gdańska i zaginione zwoje elfów"). The game is only in Polish.

Inspired by themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, the game has already started and will run until December 14 this year.

New Spokesperson at Gdańsk University of Technology

Adam
Adam Lecibil is the new spokesperson at Gdańsk University of Technology. He is a long-time journalist with extensive experience in communication. He will be responsible for shaping the university's image, building relations with the media and the academic community.

Adam Lecibil was born in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, where he started working at Radio Park fm as a teenager. He was a journalist and presenter, covering numerous events, both regional and national.

As a reporter for Radio Opole, he covered local government, social and educational issues. He has always been with people and close to people. He has been associated with the media for a dozen or so years. He has also cooperated with national radio stations.

IEEE Workshops: search techniques and publishing aspects

Please join us on 27 November for an IEEE workshop consisting of two thematic sessions at:

  • 1000-1040: Techniques for Effective Searching in the IEEE Xplore
  • 1100-1230: How to Get Published with IEEE and Open Access at IEEE

The workshop will discuss search strategies on the IEEE Xplore platform and issues related to preparing an article for publication in IEEE in the context of improving the visibility of one's research. Including in detail:
