Students presented a breakthrough racing car. It will race on famous tracks

Advanced telemetry system, smaller 10-inch wheels, lighter structure, new graphics and many other solutions. Students from PGRacing Team presented the sixth generation of the car – PGR-06. Next week they will take part in the prestigious Formula Student competition in Germany and will compete with teams from all over the world.

The presentation of the car took place on Thursday, 11 August at the Hevelius Courtyard in the Main Building with the participation of university authorities, sponsors and the PGRacing Team.

Gdańsk Tech is developing cooperation with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna

A meeting was held at Gdańsk University of Technology, which is the aftermath of the framework cooperation agreement concluded in July between Gdańsk Tech and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa Stocznia Wojenna. Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech and Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna discussed specific orders that could be implemented by specialists from the Center for Security and Defense Technologies at Gdańsk Tech.

Gdańsk University of Technology has been cooperating with the Polish Navy and the Polish Armaments Group for the benefit of the Polish defense industry for many years. In July, a framework agreement was concluded between Gdańsk Tech and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, which is another step in improving cooperation in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. On 8 August, a meeting was held at Gdańsk Tech, during which the details of the scope of this cooperation were discussed.

The funds awarded under the competition will support implementation-oriented research conducted at the University in the area of technologies of key importance to the economy, in particular wind energy, hydrogen technologies and closed-loop economy.

In the completed call, the following projects received funding:

1. project title: Horizontal axis wind power plant with the low-speed multiphase brushless doubly-fed generator with dedicated power electronics.

Gdańsk Tech in the Shanghai ranking of academic subjects for the year 2022

In this year’s edition of the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), Gdańsk University of Technology was listed in two engineering disciplines: civil engineering and electrical & electronic engineering.

Gdańsk University of Technology was the only University among the Polish participants that was classified within the range of 201-300 in the global ranking for civil engineering discipline. Electrical & electronic engineering were evaluated within the range of 401-500, together with Warsaw University of Technology.

The Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology adopted a modified Code of Ethics and an internal anti-mobbing and anti-discrimination procedure in June. Gdańsk Tech intensifies the anti-discrimination activities.

In June 2022, the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology adopted a modified Code and a procedure for acting in case of mobbing or discrimination in the broad sense.
