Professor Dariusz Mikielewicz
Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, vice-rector for organization and development, was elected the corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Professor will represent the Division IV – Engineering Sciences.  

Ordinary and corresponding members as well as members of the Academy of Young Scholars of PAN were elected during the general assembly on 3 December.

Closer cooperation between Gdańsk Tech and the Polish Armaments Group

PGZ SA and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Ltd. concluded confidentiality agreements with the Marine Military Technologies Centre at Gdańsk University of Technology, which will enable the commencement of talks on the development of technologies for minimizing the physical fields of ships and unmanned underwater vehicles for the Polish Navy.

The signing of confidentiality agreements was necessary for the parties to start talks on cooperation in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. Details remain the secret of the parties.

Announcement of results in the 2nd edition of Radon Supporting Most Talented Students

Funds granted within the second edition of the program constitute scholarships for particularly gifted students involved in the university's research activities.

Based on the ranking list of evaluated applications presented by the Evaluation Committee, the Rector of the Gdansk University of Technology awarded 12 RADON scholarships to students who scored minimum 203 points.

The scholarships were granted in the amount of PLN 1000 per month for 12 months, i.e. from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.

Announcement of results in the 2nd edition of Actinium Supporting Most Talented Candidates

The funds granted in the 2nd edition of the program constitute scholarships for particularly gifted students, based on their achievements at the previous educational level, starting their full-time I or II degree studies at the Gdansk University of Technology.

On the basis of the ranking list of evaluated applications presented by the Evaluation Committee, the Rector of the Gdansk University of Technology awarded

  • 11 ACTINIUM scholarships for undergraduate students who received a minimum of 44.5 points;
  • 1 ACTINIUM scholarship for a second degree student who achieved 394.14 points.

The scholarships were awarded in the amount of PLN 1000 per month for 10 months, i.e. from October 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022.

International Relations Office invites students and staff to a cinnamon-scented, singing and beautifully decorated Christmas meeting - International Christmas Tree (Wednesday, December 15th, at 11:00 a.m. next to Hydromechanika building no. 11).

On International Relation Office Facebook fanpage, you can find photos from the Christmas meeting, which took place in 2019 at the Fahrenheit Courtyard in the university’s Main Building. There was a Christmas tree, Santa Claus on a red bike, decorating gingerbread cookies together and… Christmas karaoke.

Gdańsk Tech students win the Huawei Seeds for the Future program

Students from Gdańsk University of Technology became the winners of the international program Huawei Seeds for the Future, where they won against other teams from the Netherlands, Poland and Cameroon. They have advanced to the global level, where they will face 9 other teams from around the world.

Huawei Seeds for the Future is an international program that gives young people access to practical knowledge about the most interesting technologies of our time. It is aimed at students who are interested in 5G, AI, IoT, Cloud and Smart City. This year's program was attended by 30000 students from 108 countries from over 350 universities around the world.
