University High School with strong patronage

Patronage declaration over the Paweł Adamowicz University High School was signed by the authorities of the three largest universities in Gdańsk, Gdańsk authorities and the Positive Initiatives Foundation. The signatories of the declaration want to jointly care for the modern fields of education of the facility and participate in its educational and social projects.

The patronage declaration was signed on 22 July 2021 by representatives of Gdańsk authorities - the President of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, and the founders of the Daniel Fahrenheit University Association in Gdańsk. The University of Gdańsk was represented by the rector prof. Piotr Stepnowski, PhD, DSc, Gdańsk University of Technology – by rector prof.

High school students from Stężyca prepare for their studies at Gdańsk Tech

Gdańsk University of Technology and the Training and Education Unit in Stężyca have signed a cooperation agreement to improve the quality of high school education and prepare the students for studies at Gdańsk university.

The contract was signed on 19 July at the Stężyca Commune Office. Gdańsk University of Technology was represented by: prof. Krzysztof Wilde – rector, prof. Marek Dzida - vice-rector for education, as well as PhD Barbara Wikieł, director of the Mathematics Teaching and Distance Learning Center, Jolanta Wielgus, director of the Language Center and Krzysztof Kaszuba, director of the Academic Sports Center.

Archiculture - a new field of inter-university postgraduate studies

"Archiculture - architectural educator" is a new, interdisciplinary and interinstitutional postgraduate (3rd cycle) course. It is the first such initiative in Poland. Gdańsk University of Technology signed an agreement on its creation with the National Institute of Architecture and Town Planning - the main initiator of the project, and with the Kraków University of Technology and the Pedagogical University of Kraków.

The need for general education in the field of education about the built environment should become an indispensable element in shaping an informed, civic society. The element of building culture is very often an overlooked aspect when creating various types of spatial development plans.

For several years now they have been designing and building cars from scratch, then testing them, all in order to be able to race against teams of students from around the world at the Formula Student engineering competition. Now students from the PGRacing Team are working on a vehicle with which they plan to race in the Czech city of Most.

Gdańsk University of Technology joined the international network for measuring sky glow

Gdańsk University of Technology is the first research unit in Poland to join the international network Globe at Night - Sky Brightness Monitoring Network (GaN-MN) for global night sky brightness monitoring. Measurements are performed using a specialized SQM-LE sensor by Unihedron, designed for long-term monitoring. The entire network includes 64 sensors located in 19 countries around the world.  

The success of this endeavor lies the involvement of ILLUME  - an interdisciplinary research group operating within the EkoTech Center.

The Fahrenheit University Association supports the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area

The Fahrenheit University Association in Gdańsk has become a new member supporting the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area. Thus, it joined the group of a dozen or so institutions, foundations and universities that had previously declared cooperation with the GGSMA.  

The Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area (formerly: Gdańsk Metropolitan Area) is an association of 59 communes, cities and counties of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The main goal of the institution is to take actions for the economic development of the region of about 1.6 million people, which translates into the quality and comfort of life of the inhabitants.

The September re-take exam session at Gdańsk Tech will be carried out remotely

The re-sit session in the summer semester of the 2020/21 academic year at Gdańsk University of Technology will be held on the same terms as the basic session - i.e. in the remote formula.

The authorities of Gdańsk University of Technology, after looking into the Gdańsk Tech Student Government's application, decided that the rules for the basic session would be maintained during the September re-sit session.

Thus, the summer semester re-take session at Gdańsk University of Technology (11-19 September 2021) will be held remotely using electronic means of communication: this applies to both credits and exams.
