Establish cooperation with a foreign university - call for applications

International Relations Office encourages faculties and units of Gdańsk Tech to submit applications for cooperation with foreign universities from countries not associated with the Erasmus + program.

After a one-year break, the European Commission re-launched a competition for Student and Staff Mobility of Higher Education Institutions supported by external policy funds. Projects implemented under the program may concern mobility with third countries not associated with the Erasmus + program (excluding Andorra, Monaco, the Vatican City, San Marino, Switzerland, the Faroe Islands, and the United Kingdom).

SeaSentinel - port drone preventing contamination. New SimLE project

Students from the science club SimLE are working on a new project. It is SeaSentinel, a port drone that will monitor the cleanliness of the port basin from the water level, but also prevent any contamination.

The originator of the project is Igor Rusiecki, a first-year student of ocean engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. He started working on the drone while still in high school (and got to the final of the Explory competition already at the preliminary stage of work), and now he decided to continue his work at Gdańsk University of Technology with the SimLE team.

HumMilkPres project – obtained funding in the Small Grant Scheme 2020 competition

The research project entitled. "Storage of human milk in unfrozen state under high pressure-subzero temperature conditions – new method of preservation" received funding in the Small Grant Scheme 2020 competition, announced by the National Centre for Research and Development under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the Applied Research Programme.

The Principal Investigator is Edyta Malinowska-Pańczyk, Ph.D. Eng. The team implementing the project also include  Dorota Martysiak-Żurowska, Ph.D. Eng, and Barbara Kusznierewicz, Ph.D. Eng.

Virtual tour inside a ship thanks to an application

What would it be like if you could immerse yourself in virtual reality and see the hull of a ship from a previously unavailable perspective? MSc. Ewelina Ciba from the Institute of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology is working on an application that will make it possible.

Ewelina Ciba's project "Virtual Reality (VR) in designing the hull structure, application for Android and IOS systems" was awarded in the first edition of the Educational Innovation Competition at Gdańsk Tech, organised by Center for Innovative Eduaction.

2021 at Gdańsk Tech: promotions in rankings, FarU, science, innovation and investments

The past year at Gdańsk University of Technology was busy and effective, despite the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The university advanced or maintained high positions in national and international rankings, and its scientists conducted innovative research projects. The infrastructure base of Gdańsk Tech is also gradually improving, and cooperation with the universities that are part of the Fahrenheit Union of Universities - the Medical University of Gdańsk and the University of Gdańsk - is getting closer and more fruitful.  

The position of the University of Technology in the country and in the world

Gdańsk University of Technology was classified for the second time in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), i.e. the Shanghai ranking, which is considered to be the most prestigious ranking of universities in the world. Our university maintained its position in the ninth hundred and recorded a one point increase in three ranking indicators.
