Conduct classes at university in Spain

If you are an academic teacher and would like to conduct classes in a foreign university, apply to the Universidade da Coruña's International Summer School in Spain (15-26 July 2024). You can obtain funding for this mobility from Erasmus+ program. 

Participation in Universidade da Coruña's International Summer School is a great opportunity for academic teachers to gain experience in conducting classes in an international environment, improve their English, improve intercultural competences and make friends with colleagues from universities from different parts of Europe and beyond. 

Gdańsk Tech most frequently chosen by high school graduates in the ME&S ranking

students
Over 3 thousand more applications in this year's recruitment for studies at Gdańsk University of Technology and a return to first place among the most frequently chosen public universities in Poland. We know the results of the ranking of the Ministry of Education and Science.

According to ME&S, almost 442,000 young people were admitted to first- and second-cycle studies in the 2023/24 academic year. Students most willingly chose technical universities.

Underwater acoustic communication in the research work of a graduate of the Doctoral School

Artur Gańcza
Artur Gańcza from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics is a graduate of the Doctoral School. His scientific activity focuses on the identification of systems, with particular emphasis on models in underwater communication.  

His doctoral thesis "Local basis function method in the identification of non-stationary processes" was written under the supervision of prof. Maciej Niedźwiecki from the Department of Signals and Systems at FETI. Process identification is a field that deals with creating mathematical models of phenomena (objects or signals) based on experimental data. The PhD student's research focuses on building models in underwater acoustic communication.

From the 4th to the 6th of October, Gdańsk Tech was the host of the “ENHANCE Summit on Climate-Neutral Cities”. More than 120 teaching and administrative staff and students from 10 European universities of technology, as well as urban stakeholders and experts came to Gdańsk Tech and took part in diverse activities, from panels and discussions on the topic of climate-neutral cities to operational activities of the Alliance itself. Recently the ENHANCE Operational Office issued a press release on the outcomes of the event (check here). Here is how the Summit has been summarized.

Both a symbol and the building of a strong community

During the Summit, Gdańsk Tech hosted a Board of Directors meeting, where the rectors and presidents discussed both the achievement of the current project and the perspective of the future. Gdańsk Tech was represented by Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Co-Chair of ENHANCE Board of Directors, Prof. Janusz Nieznański, Steering Committee member, and Anna Modrzejewska, Core Officer.

On November 9th, 2023 at 1:15 pm in room EA 20 (Building 41) the seminar of NOBELIUM IDUB recipient dr Sanju Gupta, prof. PG will be held. She will give a lecture entitled "Electrifying Innovations; Graphene-based Multifunctional Hybrids for Alternative Energy and Sustainable Environment" in the cycle of meetings Autumn Nanodiamond Group Seminar 2023 - "Fishy Nanocarbons". The seminar is organized by the Department Metrology and Optoelectronics, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics at Gdańsk University of Technology.

"Nuclear energy is something I view as an opportunity," emphasizes PhD Eng. Marcin Jaskólski, Deputy Director of the Nuclear Energy Center at Gdańsk University of Technology, in the latest episode of the podcast series 'Ściśle mówiąc!'.

In the second episode of 'Ściśle mówiąc!', PhD Eng. Marcin Jaskólski discusses, among other topics, plans for nuclear energy in Poland, the situation at power plants in Ukraine, lessons learned from the Fukushima disaster by the Japanese and others, as well as... TV series and how his dog helps him contribute to reducing CO2 emissions.
