  1. The reactivity of the phosphinoborenium cation supported by a 1,3,4,5-tetramethylimidazolin-2-ylidene ligand toward small molecules was explored. The phosphinoborenium cation exhibited dual Lewis acid–base properties due to the presence of the Lewis acidic boron center and the Lewis basic phosphido ligand connected by a covalent bond. The reaction of the title cation with CO2 led to the insertion of a CO2 molecule into the P–B...

    - MOLECULES - Rok 2025

γ- and δ-lactones were formed by bromine oxidation of commercially available D-lyxose, as confirmed by IR analysis. The former was isolated, and its structure was confirmed by NMR spectra and X-ray analysis. In this structure, the presence of both intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonds was found. Intermolecular interactions in the crystal were illustrated using the Hirshfeld surfaces. Due to steric reasons, 3,5- O-isopropylidene-D-lyxono-1,4-lactone...

  3. The oxidative addition of bromo(phosphino)boranes to platinum(0) compounds enabled the formation of platinum(II) complexes with unprecedented side-on coordination of the boryl ligand. The resulting complex underwent a reaction with carbon dioxide, leading to the insertion of a CO2 molecule into the B–P bond of the phosphinoboryl ligand.

    - MOLECULES - Rok 2024

The crystal structures of two newly synthesized nitrilotriacetate oxidovanadium(IV) salts, namely [QH][VO(nta)(H2O)](H2O)2 (I) and [(acr)H][VO(nta)(H2O)](H2O)2 (II), were determined. Additionally, the cytotoxic effects of four N-heterocyclic nitrilotriacetate oxidovanadium(IV) salts— 1,10-phenanthrolinium, [(phen)H][VO(nta)(H2O)](H2O)0.5 (III), 2,2′-bipyridinium [(bpy)H][VO(nta)(H2O)](H2O) (IV), and two newly synthesized compounds...

    - BIOORGANIC & MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY - Rok 2024

A series of novel 4-alkylthio-2-chloro-5-[(2-arylmethylidene)hydrazinecarbonyl]benzenesulfonamide derivatives 3–22 were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against human carbonic anhydrase isozymes hCA I, hCA II, hCA IX, and hCA XII. These compounds showed varying degrees of activity against the studied isoenzymes. However, the importance of substituent choice in designing potent carbonic anhydrase inhibitors...
